Bring the Pain…

by djsharpe on December 19, 2010

So I’ve started back at the gym. Let the soreness of working out again commence. Hopefully, it won’t last to long and I’ll be back into the groove before I know it.

Another good thing about starting back at the gym it gives me more time to catch up on new mixes by DJ’s I enjoy and being able to listen to the complete mix without interuption. The last few workouts I’ve been rocking out to the new Girl Talk “All Day” mix and it blows me away all the samples he used. I have mad respect for what he’s doing but given the amount of time he put into it the new mix I’d love to be able to devote that kind of time into creating a mix like this and see what my brain can create.

Time will tell & 2011 is right around the corner.

Also a big shout out to the boys over at Kuad for hooking me up with some new heat!

Calibrating your Macbook Battery

by djsharpe on October 11, 2010

I came across this informative article on the site All About Apple and thought I’d post here it as well since I’m going thru this same issue and it really helped me.

Calibrating the MacBook battery (MacBook Battery Reset)
If you are experiencing a loss in charge or just feel the battery should perform better you can try to calibrate the battery. It is quite easy to do this MacBook Battery Reset. What you need to do is the following:

1. Plug in the power adapter and fully charge the laptop until the light turns green.

2. Keep the power adapter plugged in for about two hours, you can still use the computer during this.

3. Unplug the power adapter and keep using the computer until the computer enters sleep mode. Remember to save important work before the battery runs out!

4. Turn the computer off, or let it rest for five hours or more.

5. Connect the power adapter again, let it fully charge without interruption.

Now hopefully you may experience your battery performing better or lasting longer because of your battery care. Results may also depend on how old the battery is and how much it is used. You may have to do this calibration several times. (3 – 5)

** A very special thanks to All About Apple for this great post and advice! Follow the link and check out their site, it’s very informative! **

Ableton & Serato present The Bridge

by djsharpe on October 8, 2010

So I am so curious to find out more out this new product. I’ve watched & read all I can find online but haven’t talked to anyone who has actually used it. I love new digital toys to play with and this one has definitely caught my eye since I use both Live & Scratch.

So has anyone out there used it yet or had any experience with it? Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.

R.I.P. DJ AM: A Collection of Mixes

by djsharpe on August 26, 2010

I found this post on the Get Right Music site and thought I put it here for you to enjoy. A big thank you to Get Right Music for this great post and remembering a great DJ!

This post is in honor of DJ AM. One of the greatest club/mix dj’s of our time. DJ AM was pioneer and his ability to control a crowd was one of one. From Dj’ing Hollywood nightclubs, to giving away amazing free mixes on the internet, to touring worldwide, Dj AM was without a doubt a great artist. He set the trend with the “eclectic” mix. AM’s style of blending hip hop, pop, rock, 80’s, funk, soul, breaks and more all in one set was groundbreaking and therefore imitated by dj’s all over the world. Dj AM will definitely be missed and hopefully his name will remain a legacy in the music industry. This post serves as an honor to his music and features a collection of 16 of his mixes. Most of the mixes are well over an hour and capture AM’s style of djing. Personally, I like to throw on an AM mix during a house party, as it always gets people up and animated. But, putting it on in the car and just cruising around works just as well. The download is served as one large 1.25 GB file or as separate downloads. Dj AM, R.I.P.
